Woeste Westen Outdoor Playground
On the outskirts of Amsterdam you will find Woeste Westen, a natural playscape for children to explore, adventure and have fun. The unique feature of this natural playground would be its water features. In the past, the land was harvested with peat soil therefore leaving the children to play in many waterways. The children are even able to raft over these pools of water giving the playground an even more adventurous touch.
Children up to 13 years of age are able to roam for free. Everyday there are playground administrators present. The Woeste Westen is a natural playground of 3 hectares, giving children both literally and figuratively the space to enjoy playing freely. Kids can entertain themselves for hours on end, by themselves. They are able to use their creative minds to build huts, raft, catch ditch bugs, make dams, romp and roam through reeds and bushes and get dirty and wet. The challenges and opportunities that the playscape offers is endless.
