Child in the City Conference Odense, Denmark
The 7th Child in the City Conference was held from the 29th of September until the 1st of October 2014 in Odense, Denmark. A three day program was organized, containing presentations, discussions, several field trips and much more. This year’s location was the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), where the conference was opened by Crown Princess Mary. During this openings ceremony the focus was mainly on the difference between humans, |

which was symbolized with a Lego-duck (based on the Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen, who was born in Odense). Each participant of the conference had to make its own ‘duck’ with the given Lego blocks (of which there were several ways to do so). |
At the 7th Child in the City Conference participants from 35 different nationalities were present and over 100 presenters gave presentations on different topics within the themes Play, Participation and General. Besides presentations, participants were able to join several field trips to the following destinations: The City’s Island and Stige Island, Youth Schools, Tinderbox and the New Play and Movement Stadium. |

During these field trips participants of the conference were able to see projects in real life, such as school kids playing at the new Play and Movement Stadium. |
