Have you already registered for the upcoming Child in the City International Seminar? Don’t miss this opportunity to join some fascinating field trips across throughout the Portugese city of Cascais to see for yourself a collection of child-friendly projects.

During the two-day seminar three field trips are part of the programme, and you are invited to choose from three thematic paths that will take you to cultural, environmental and sustainable destinations.

The field trips will take place on Friday, 20 May 2022 at 10:30 am after the parallel session. Don’t wait too long to register for a field trip that you’d like to join as there are limited seats in the buses.

  • Culture: Paula Rego’s House of Stories: This cultural thematic path will take you on a walking tour to the Museum district of Cascais. You will experience a session for children in a cultural space and learn how this place contributes to the city’s child-friendly policy. Take an opportunity to walk along the picturesque streets of a coastal city and explore the opportunities of a modern child-friendly art museum.
  • Mobility & Environment: Guincho beach and Quinta do Pisão Nature Park: Join this bus and walking tour to learn how the City of Cascais integrates child-friendly policy into mobility and environment. You will take a trip along the Guincho beach discovering bicycle paths for children and families. Make a stop among the local scenery and experience environmental awareness in Quinta do Pisão Nature Park with its possibilities.
  • Youth & Sustainability: visiting EcoToy Library: A bus tour through the breathtaking surroundings of Cascais to the EcoToy Library. An innovative project that combines leisure time with the creation of ecological and sustainability awareness encouraging children, youth and families to create their own games and toys from used and recycled materials.
