The EU (European Union) Children’s Participation Platform ensures more young voices are heard by helping children across the EU realise their right to participate in decision making and to share, learn and connect with others.

It achieves this by providing children with opportunities to get involved through digital and in-person consultations, meetings and other activities.

The 2023 General Assembly meeting was held over two days in June, with children, teens, and adults from across Europe. This was the first EU meeting co-created and co-run with children from the Children’s Panel.

All are working together to make sure children’s voices are heard, and so children met with EU officials, worked in groups on some important topics, while of course making new friends.

The EU Ombudsman also awarded a special prize for the work done to create the EU Plan for Children’s Rights, which recognises the thousands of children in Europe who took part in surveys, gave valuable feedback and reviewed the final documents.
