The 9th Child in the City World Conference will be held on 24th – 26th of September 2018 in Vienna. The international conference takes place every two years. It is a key opportunity for children’s professionals, city planners, geographers and policy makers to share knowledge, good practice and research findings from the various disciplines that are important to the shared aim of creating child-friendly cities.

With more than 100 speakers, it promises to be the biggest edition so far.

The Program

The world conference takes place in the beautiful City Hall of Vienna and brings together around 500 children’s professionals. This year the following four important themes will be discussed; Children’s rights in urban development and regeneration, Children and young people and media, Equality and diversity in the child-friendly city and Mobility and access to the child-friendly city.

Together with wienXtra and the City of Vienna, the Child in the City Foundation has created an outstanding programme. The programme consists of interesting keynote sessions, interactive parallel sessions, a poster exhibition and several field trips to projects throughout the city of Vienna.
